IEDC

The mission of the IEDCs is to “develop institutional mechanism to create entrepreneurial culture in academic institutions to foster growth of innovation and entrepreneurship amongst the faculty and students “. We had already given proposal for the IEDC to get the fund for setting the room. We had selected the student representatives from each class and conducted meetings in connection with the cell. We had already started to set up a room exclusively for the IEDC students. The student representatives had already attended the seminars in connection with the start-up activities. One of the students called NEHA had submitted a paper for the National Seminar organized by the SITTR, Kalamassery.

CEC – Continuing Education Cell

Continuing education sub centre of this institution is working under Center for Continuing Education Kerala [CCEK]. With the guidance of principal, center conducts income generating courses in technical and industrial relevant areas. The income generated is used for the welfare of student community and the overall development of this institution.

CDTP – Community Development Through Polytechnics

CDTP (Community Development through Polytechnic is conducted under the Scheme of MHRD ( Ministry of Human Resource Development) whose main objective is to impart skill training and accomplish ground level physical delivery of new technologies at the doorsteps of the rural people, each identified Polytechnic shall establish 05 to 10 Extension Centres in the nodal villages so that each centre covers at least a cluster of 10-20 villages in its vicinity. Extension Centres shall be set up after obtaining approval from concerned NITTR. These centres will act as an extension arm of the polytechnic and will provide skill training, repair and maintenance services and common facility for group enterprises, information sharing and hiring technical facilities of the Polytechnics under the scheme. NGOs, voluntary organizations, professional experts, village agencies, Village Panjayats/ Panjayat samitis, ITI’s and Senior Secondary School, Vocation Schools, etc. should be involved in the establishment of Extension Centres. The main activities of the Scheme are Need Assessment Survey, Skill Development training programmes, Dissiminate and application of appropriate technologies, technical and support services and awareness programmers.

The Principal / Director is the chief co ordinator of the scheme of Community Development through Polytechnics. The Internal Co ordinator acts as an important link between the Principal and Community development Consultant. Community Development Consultant is the key person in the scheme .Junior Consultant is responsible for supervising the work of trainers at the training centre’s/ extension centres. The Junior Statistical Consultant is responsible for discharging the duties pertaining to the above schemes.

NSS – National Service Scheme

NSS is primarily a student run volunteer organisation sponsored and mentored by Ministry of Youth Affairs, Government of India. NSS was born in 1969 to integrate the youth all over the nation in the service of nation. “Not Me But You” is the motto of NSS, tell the importance of democratic living and support the need for self-less service. NSS helps the students develop appreciation to another person’s point of view and also define consideration to other living beings. Their aim is to develop social welfare in students, and to give services to society without bias. NSS volunteers work to ensure that needy persons get help to increase their standard of living and lead a life of dignity. By doing so, volunteers learn from villages peoples that how to lead a good life despite inadequate resources. it also provides help in natural and man-made disasters by giving food, clothes and first aid to disaster victims.
